Who we are
Enchanted Connections is operated by Enchanted Connections, Toronto, Ontario. We are the controller of the personal data described below. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who can see it, how long we keep it and the choices you have. It covers the Enchanted Connections app and website.
Information you give us
Account details: your email address, password, name and email verification status. Profile details: display name, country, city or region, date of birth, gender, who you would like to meet, the age range you would like to meet, your bio, photos, your answers about favourites and park memories, interests, travel style, favourite destination and favourite park, and your profile visibility setting. Trips: destination, dates, park, travel party, notes and whether a trip is marked discoverable. Community activity: posts, comments, meetups you host or join, and messages you send to other members. Support and safety: what you tell us when you contact us, and details you give us in a report.
Information created as you use Enchanted Connections
Likes, passes, matches, connections, blocks and reports; notification and read status; membership status and renewal dates; and technical information such as device and browser type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and the times you use the app.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We receive limited billing information such as your subscription status, plan, renewal date, card brand, last four digits and billing country.
How we use your information
To create and run your account; to show your profile to other members as you have chosen and to run discovery and matching; to deliver messages, likes and notifications; to process membership payments and manage billing; to keep members safe by reviewing reports, investigating abuse and preventing spam, fraud and ban evasion; to answer your questions and provide support; to understand how the app is used so we can improve it; and to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Our legal bases
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on: performance of our contract with you (running your account and membership); our legitimate interests (keeping the community safe, preventing abuse, improving the service); your consent (where we ask for it, for example for optional non-essential storage); and compliance with legal obligations. You can withdraw consent at any time.
What other members can see
Other members can see your display name, city or region, photos, bio, interests, travel style, your answers, trips you have marked discoverable, and the posts, comments and meetups you take part in. Other members cannot see your date of birth, email address, password, payment details or exact address. They cannot see who you have blocked or the reports you make. If you set your profile visibility to Private, you will not appear in Discover or anywhere else in the community.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers. We share it with service providers who process it for us: Stripe for payments, our cloud hosting and database provider for app data, and email delivery providers for account and service messages. We share it with other members only as described above. We may also share it where we are legally required to, to protect the rights, safety or property of Enchanted Connections, our members or the public, and with a buyer or successor if the business is sold or merged.
Cookies and analytics
We use necessary storage to keep you logged in and to remember your preferences, and we record product activity events to understand how features are used. See our Cookie Policy for details and your choices.
How long we keep it
We keep account and profile data while your account is open. When you delete your account we remove or anonymise it within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records longer, for example billing and tax records, fraud and abuse prevention, records relating to safety reports, or data needed for legal claims.
Your choices and rights
You can edit most of your information directly in your profile, change your profile visibility, or delete your account from Profile. You can also contact us at contact@pixie-pals.com to ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to receive it in a portable format, to restrict or object to certain processing, or to withdraw consent. If you are in the EEA, the UK, Switzerland or a jurisdiction with similar laws, you have these rights by law, along with the right to complain to your local data protection authority. If you are a California resident, we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We collect the categories of information described above and use them only for the purposes described in this policy. You have the rights to know, delete, correct and to be free from discrimination for exercising your rights.
Security
We protect data in transit with encryption, restrict access to our systems, and rely on hashed passwords for authentication. No system is completely secure. Please use a strong, unique password and tell us at contact@pixie-pals.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
International transfers
We and our service providers may process your data in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States. Where we transfer personal data from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission standard contractual clauses.
Children
Enchanted Connections is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using Enchanted Connections, please report the member and email contact@pixie-pals.com; we will close the account and delete the data.
Changes to this policy
We will post any update here with a new date at the top, and we will notify you in the app or by email when a change is material.
